Formed in a desolate, post-industrial city, inspired by Alvin Toffler’s Future Shock and Hakim Bey’s concept of the temporary autonomous zone, viewed as an anti-commercial countermovement to Thatcherism in the UK and a rejection of superstar-attitude - that is what techno truly was. Techno and rave culture bear a strong and political charge. We will ask ourselves the question of how to deal with a movement that crossed over into the mainstream a long time ago and has become a business now worth millions.
