Shalini Randeria

The keynote on Saturday will be delivered by Shalini Randeria. The Indian sociologist and social anthropologist was appointed as the first woman and first person from the Global South to serve as the Rector of the Central European University in Vienna in 2021. Her research focuses on the anthropology of globalization, law, state, and social movements, with a regional emphasis on India. She is also the host of the influential podcast series "Democracy in Question."
