Anneliese Rohrer is one of the most prolific journalists in Austria. After stydying history, she has written for the daily newspaper Die Presse for 30 years,where she took over as head of the department of home affairs in 1987. She has furthermore garnered audience and recognition through her regular participation in discussions on Austrian TV programs and the radio station Ö1. In 2003, she was awarded the Kurt-Vorhofer-Preis for political journalism. From 2005 to 2009, Rohrer commentated on political events for the newspaper Kurier. In the year 2005 she released her book Charakterfehler - die Österreicher und ihre Politiker (Character Flaw - the Austrian people and their politicians). In addition, Rohrer teaches journalism at the Vienna University of Applied Sciences and sits on the advisory board for the monthly magazine Datum.
