Radio Helsinki
Since the year 2000 the free community radio station Radio Helsinki is available at 92.6 FM in Graz. As the Styrian Free Radio Association it is one of 15 independent radio stations and members of the Austrian Association of Free Radio Stations (VFRÖ). Radio Helsinki gives those a voice and a chance to go public, who are often ignored. Free access, a democratic structure and an emancipatory attitude are as much part of their recipe for success as are a strict absence of ads, and political and economic independence. More than 120 broadcasters design the program in many different languages on a voluntary basis. In principle, any person can be involved in the program. What they have in common, however, is creativity, originality and positive action, which is reflected in the broadcast content. The association also offers numerous workshops around radio and broadcasting.
